TEXAS EVENTS
Austin
Special Events Center: 1701 Red River. Feb. 23,
pantomimist Marcel Marceau will perform with
his partner Pierre Verry. Tickets are on sale at
the box office for $10, $8 and $6. The show will
start at 8 p.m. A roast pork loin dinner will be
served at the Center before the performance for
$9 a person, tax and tip included. No cameras
will be allowed in the building for the perform
ance.
Jazz: The Heath Brothers will perform March 7 at
the Armadillo World Headquarters, 5251/2 Bar
ton Springs Rd. Performance starts at 9 p.m.
Tickets are $5 advance and $6 at the door.
Dallas-Fort Worth
Car Auction: A Classic Car Auction will be held
Feb. 23 at 10 a.m. at the Will Rogers Exhibits
Bldg., 3300 block W. Lancaster in Fort Worth. A
few antiques and some special edition cars will
be sold to the highest bidders. Dealers will arrive
at 8 a.m. Call 332-0909 for more information.
Symphony: The Dallas Symphony will perform
March 6, 8 & 9 at the Fair Park Music Hall, 1st
and Parry. Performances will begin at 8:15 p.m.
on March 6 & 8, and at 2:30 p.m. on March 9.
Tickets are $4-$12.
Music Awards: March 11 the Seventh Annual
Texas Music Awards will be held at the Lon
ghorn Ballroom, 216 Corinth in Dallas. It is a
salute to Texas country music with entertain
ment by the Joe Ely Band, Asleep at the Wheel
and Ray Wylie Hubbard. It will start at 8 p.m.
Tickets are $10. Black tie optional.
Ballet: Dallas Ballet will perform March 7 & 9 at the
Southern Methodist University McFarlin Au
ditorium, Airline and Hillcrest. Rhythmetron and
a premiere by a new choreographer, Rodwic
Fukino. Performance starts at 8 p.m. on Friday
and Saturday, and Sunday at 2:15 p.m. Tickets
$3-$15. ^
Texas Little Symphony: The Texas Little Sym
phony will perform March 4 at the Kimbell Art
Museum, Will Rogers Road in Fort Worth. Per
formance starts at 8 p.m. General admission
$7.50 a person.
Houston
Hank Williams: “Hank Williams, the Show He Nev
er Gave,” a show where Canadian folksinger
Sneezy Waters recreates Williams and his
music. March 10 through April 6, at the Tower
Theatre, 1201 Westheimer. Tuesday through
Friday at 8 p.m.; Saturday at 5 p.m. and 9:30
p.m.; and Sundays at 3 p.m. Tickets $8.50-
$13.50.
Livestock Show and Rodeo: The Houston Lives
tock Show and Rodeo is being held through
March 2, at the Astrodome and Astrohall, 9100
block of Kirby. Stars appearing include Shaun
Cassidy, Anne Murray, Charley Pride and Crys

Grand Opera: The Houston Grand Opera will be

Holiday on Ice: Holiday on Ice will appear at the

Gold Medalist, and characters from television’s

San Antonio
Kenny Rogers: Kenny Rogers will perform at the

tical guitar players will be performing at the Lof-

St. Patricks Day: A celebration will be held March
15 starting at 2 p.m. on the Riverwalk, including
San Antonio River dyeing green parade. March
16 there will be an Irish Show at the Arneson
River Theater for free, starting at 1 p.m.
