NTSU takes a 3-18 record into the tournament. First-year coach De nise Smith has two talented players in J’Lynn Johnston, who is averaging 14.9 points a game, and Beverly Sampey, who leads the team in re bounding with an average of 11 caroms per game. It will be a homecoming for first- year Aggie coach Cherri Rapp and center Lori Foreman, who is averag ing 15.4 points a game to lead the Ags. Rapp left NTSU to take the head job at A&M this year and brought Foreman with her.
