The men’s team will play at 8 p.m. The Ponies are the ninth-ranked team in the state and come into tonight’s contest with a 14-9 record. “They (SMU) have a real quick and aggressive team,” said head coach Cherri Rapp, “and they will play us tough.” The Ponies boast the state’s lead ing free-throw shooter in Lisa Davis, who is hitting 85 percent of her tos ses for the year. Kim Nowak leads the team in rebounding with an aver age of nine a game and Wendy Trus- key is fourth in the state in steals with an average of 3.4 thefts a contest. The Aggies received good news Tuesday when they were informed they would be the number three seed in the state tournament, behind Texas and Stephen F. Following this game the Aggies’ next chance to play will come Friday and Saturday in Denton. The Ags compete in the Mean Green Classic hosted by North Texas State Univer sity. Rapp formerly coached at North Texas State and when she left there for Texas A&M she brought Ag cen ter and leading scorer Lori Foreman with her.
