Thanks for always being there. world SpO] OPEC urged to end confusion United Press International CARACAS, Venezuela — Vene zuelan President Luis Herrera Mon day called on the 13 member nations of the Organization of Petroleum Ex porting Countries (OPEC) to end the current confusion over oil prices and forge a strong united front in deal ings with the industrialized world. “Confusion and lack of discipline in the market does not favor the long- range objectives of our organiza tion,” Herrera said in a speech open ing the 55th semi-annual conference of the oil producing countries. “It tends only to separate and weaken us while the multinational oil intermediaries reap the benefits without regard to any serious study of the origin and use of hydrocar bons.” The conference will try to set a unified oil pricing policy, although Iran, Libya and Indonesia have already announced their own sub stantial increases.
