The protester attempted to de bate Connally on his pro-nuclear stance, but the candidate, after a brief verbal exchange, chose to keep on moving. According to eyewitnesses, the protester then engaged in a brief shoving match with Connally’s body shoves guards guards. There were no arrests and no one was hurt. But the protester showed up later when Connally addressed about 300 students- at Keene State College. The protester went on at length about the evils of nuclear power and claimed Connally had told him on the street that no one had ever died because of nuclear power. “What I told you was last year, no lives were lost in the nuclear power field, Connally shot back, adding that a lot of coal miners died last year. When the protester continued to badmouth nuclear power and its ef fect on the environment, Connally drew hearty applause by saying, “Cold, hungry and out of work is the worst kind of environment. ” Christmas SwmtaiM Get your membership or gift certificate before Saturday, Dec. 22nd and pay just #25 for our regu lar #35 fee.
