Texas A&M University Scholarship
Pageant.
Steve Noak, pageant director, said
that although 24 applications have
been submitted, he expects more to
be turned in.
“We were expecting more (appli
cations), but we figured a lot of the
girls wanted to wait and think about
it during the Thanksgiving holidays
and talk to their parents about enter
ing,” Noak said. “We are hoping for
around 30 or more to enter, but be
cause this is a new idea and concept,

inflated levels of unemployment na

vealed.
The report, commissioned for
Texas A&M University’s Center for
Education and Research in Free En
terprise by Dr. Roger Meiners of
Texas A&M and Dr. Kenneth Clark
son of the University of Miami,
found that current measures of un
employment are no longer consis
tent with the traditional definition of
unemployment.
