Bush spoke at the Ramada Inn for nearly an hour about her husband’s candidacy, then fielded questions on his campaign. Bush started an extensive tour of the state on Monday, and has been going non-stop ever since. Her five-day tour will include nine stops in Congressional districts, and 21 separate honorary events. Prior to her talk, Bush said she didn't mind the hectic schedule too much, and wants to do all she can to help her husband win the presi dency. It s a pretty heavy schedule,” she said. But if you want to do a good job, that’s what it takes.” During her speech, Bush said she loved being a Congressman’s wife, and was confident of her husband’s ability to run a government. “I realize the name George Bush is not a household word,” she said. “I believe George can take over an institution and leave it looking bet ter when he leaves than it was when he started. He can build into a better one by hiring 17 men ... or firing them, and not doing it with a big news re lease. He simply sets about to build a good institution or agency.” Bush cited several polls which re vealed her husband’s rising popular ity in the race. She said a recent poll conducted by the Christian Science Monitor indicated Bush was favored for the Republican Party nomination by more than 66 percent of the Repub lican leaders in the nation. She also pointed out the witches that the National Witches Hallo ween Convention held annually on ( CASH FOR OLD GOLD ’ Class rings, wedding rings, worn out ► gold jewelry, coins, etc. ► The Diamond Room Town & Country Shopping Center 3731 E. 29th St., Bryan 846-4708 ^ ^ ^ COMMISSION SALESPERSONS WANTED To Sell Catering On Campus Call or Come By TEXAS CATTLE CO. 3807 Texas Ave. 846-3172 4517 DOMINO’S PIZZA Now hiring delivery personnel, part time and full time, must have own car and insurance, $3.25 per hour plus commission and tips.
