PLANO - Four “clean-cut kids,”
arrested for a high school football
prank which turned into a $300,000
inferno, spent the weekend at home
with their parents wondering how
they 11 explain themselves to prose
cutors ready to file felony arson
charges.
The four, two current students at
Richardson High School and two
who graduated last spring, were
picked up during the weekend on
suspicion of burning the artificial
turf at the Plano High School foot
ball field two weeks ago.
“It was just a prank that got out of
hand,” said Bill Threet, fire marshal
in the Dallas suburb. “That pretty
well describes it.
“They’re four clean-cut kids. Av
erage boys from good families. They
all have good backgrounds. We re
talking about arson charges.
Felonies. They’ll talk to the district
attorney (Monday).”
