Texas A&M University President Jarvis Mil
ler told the Academic Council Tuesday that
Kyle Field would be ready for the Oct. 13
football game against the University of Hous-
ton, despite numerous construction delays be
cause of bad weather. The stadium, however,
looks far from complete as seen below; piles of
dirt and unfinished concrete pillars dot the
construction site.

Flood victims
try canoeing
United Press International
WEST ALTON, Mo.— Thel
flooding along the Missouri Riverl
hasn t stopped Ken and Karen!
Dickson from getting to their jobs as
teachers. They now take a canoe to
work.
“We canoe through people’s
yards, Mrs. Dickson said. “We can j
tell the water’s going down now be
cause today we could see the top of a |
car we paddled over yesterday.”
The couple leaves a second car at
the point where they reach dry land
after leaving their home. They then
drive the rest of the way to the
Riverview School District in St.
Louis County.
We knew when we moved in ||
here that it was a flood area,” Mrs.
Dickson added. “We deliberately I
chose a high spot for our house.
