Stoll, from Chilicothe, Mo, is considered to be on of the Midwest’s top softball pitchers. She was highly re cruited by numerous schools. Stoll is a hard-throwing left hander who compiled a 17-7 record last summer playing for the North Missouri squad. Included in that record were 139 strike outs against some of the nation’s finest teams. According to Texas A&M coach Bill Galloway, Stoll is the type of player the Aggies are seeking to build up their softball program. “We are looking for those players who have played against top caliber competition,” Galloway said. Green Jr., director of fund raising and development for the Aggie Club for the past four years, has been named executive vice-president of the athletic fund raising organization to succeed Don Brister who announced his resigna tion on March 19. Green’s promotion was made by the executive committee of the Aggie Club last Saturday and was announced by club president William Lewie Jr. of Waco. Green, a 1952 graduate of Texas A&M, is a native of Houston. From 1969-74 he served as field director of Texas A&M’s Association of Former Students and then spent a year in the hotel business in College Station prior to joining the Aggie Club staff. Lacrosse The Texas A&M lacrosse team had a successful weekend defeating SMU 10-9 on Saturday and defeat ing Texas 12-11 on Sunday. The win Sunday came in double overtime and boosted the Aggies’ conference record to 5-0. The Aggies host the Houston Cougars April 7 on the Drill Field. The team will travel to the Fiesta Tournament on April 21-22 to face Texas Tech in a showdown for the league title. Rodeo In last weekend’s Temple Junior College rodeo, Texas A&M’s Be verly Acton finished first in breaka way roping and Wayne Bacon placed fourth in the calf roping event. The Aggies will participate in the Stephen F. Austin rodeo in Nacog doches April 13-14. Polo Texas A&M’s polo team was de feated 26-6 by v the University of California at Davis in the first round of the National Intercollegiate Polo Championships in Somers, Conn., Tuesday night. The UC-Davis riders, defending champions, advanced to the semifi nal round against Cornell tonight, while the Aggies are out of the com petition the single elimination tour nament. Going into last night’s match, the Texas A&M team had defeated Yale 11-9 and the Norwich Military Academy 13-9 in practice rounds but were unable to move or score effectively against the heavily fa vored UC-Davis team.
