A one day admission costs $2 and a pass for the full four days is $4 for A&M students, faculty, and staff (slightly higher for non-students). Tickets are on sale at the MSC Box Office. One day tickets will be available only at the door. This year’s AggieCon guests include writer Theodore Sturgeon and artist Boris Vallejo. March 29, Thursday LOGAN’S RUN (1976) 118 min. Michael York, Peter Ustinov, and Jenny Agutter. Winner of Academy Award for best special effects. This film portrays life in the 23rd century where no one is allowed to live past 30. Logan (Michael York) is a member of the death squad who eliminate “runners” trying to escape ceremonial execution. When Logan faces “Lastday’’ he seeks refuge. (PG) 7 p.m. BARBARELLA (1968) 98 min. In the year 40,000, Bar- barella (Jane Fonda) is assigned to locate a missing scientist. She acts like a female James Bond, van quishing evil. Starring Lily Tomlin with Gilda Radner and Dan Ackroyd of NBC’s Saturday Night Live. Earth is on a collision course with the unseen planet, Zhymus, which sends a representa tive to Earth, Tomlin, in the disguise of a TV newscas ter. Her job is to determine whether or not Earth is worth saving. Utilizing a combination of animation, song, and dance; this film is a sensitive story of the human condition from birth to death to op culture and politics. (PG) 7 p.m. EXORCIST (1975) 121 min. This provocative film pictures society in the 21st century, a world entirely dominated by six megacorporations. The only outlet for aggressive be havior is “Rollerbair, a vicious game broadcast to billions of viewers and designed to channel anti-social feelings that might interfere with economic growth. (R) 11 p.m. COUNTDOWN 101 min. James Caan, Robert Duvall and Joanna Moore. When NASA learns that the Rus sians are close to landing the first man on the moon, a crash program is instituted. American astronaut train ing is halted when a Russian spaceship is reported maneuvering for a lunar landing. U.S. experts decide to send an astronaut (James Caan) on a moon mission without delay. Ignoring orders, he lands and finds the Russian craft destroyed and crew dead. Caan plants the American Flag and waits to see if he will survive until Apollo arrives. A story of the Space Race and Lunar Survival. (G) 1 a.m. March 31, Saturday DAY OF THE DOLPHIN 104 min. George C. Scott, Trish Van Devere, Paul Sorvino. Jake Terrell (George C. Scott) is a marine biologist who is concerned with investigating the behavior of dolphins and in develop ing inter-species communication — working language between man and animal. His success results in an attempt by a conspiracy to use the dolphins to assas sinate the President. (PG) 7 p.m. FLESH GORDON (1974) 75 min. This film was origi nally conceived as an X-rated spoof of science fiction and pornography. The X version of the film was so popular that it was re-edited and released as an R. Anyone who has ever suffered through Flash Gordon will appreciate Flesh’s heroic struggle to regain the stolen power pasties and destroy the evil Emperor Wang’s perfidious sex ray which is devastating the Earth. (R) 9 p.m. STEPFORD WIVES (1975) 114 min. Katharine Ross, Paula Prentiss, Peter Viasterson. Two women (Ross and Prentiss) try to raise the consciousness of married women of a Connecticut suburb, and make chilling discoveries as to how the Stepford husbands have made their wives so docile. (PG) 10:30 p.m. THE POWER (1968) 100 min. George Hamilton, Suzanne Pleshette, Michael Rennie. In this George Pal production, a team of space research scientists, headed by George Hamilton, is plagued by a strange psychokinetic force that can move objects, direct elec tricity, and apparently control or kill humans. Hamilton suspects that the Power belongs to someone with the group; he must find out who before he and his assis tant are telepathically murdered.
