Bomb-carrying Soviet
empties U.S. Embass

MOSCOW — A young Soviet
man walked into the U.S. Embassy
Wednesday and said he would ex
plode a bomb unless he got a visa to
go to the United States, informed
sources said.
The man walked into the consular
section of the embassy about 2:30
p.m., according to the sources, “in
quiring about emigrating to the
United States.
“He said he had a bomb strapped
to him which he would detonate un
less he could be assured of the im
migration.”
Embassy authorities immediately
ordered the evacuation of the entire
north wing of the building, where

MOSCOW — It was a tough day
at the Leningrad Zoo for Teki the
monkey. All those people gawking
at you through the bars. Another
banana. Screaming kids. What a
bore.
Yawn. Crack.
Basically, said the Soviet news
agency Tass, that was what hap
pened at the Leningrad Zoo re
cently when Teki was overcome by
such a huge yawn she dislocated her
jaw.
“The zoo officials took her to the
first Medical Institute in Leningrad
where it was decided to operate on
the animal,” the Tass reported last

They put the monkey under with
