Commons to begin
Duncan’s weekend
A joint decision by the Corps of
Cadets staff and the Food Services
Department to close Duncan Din
ing Hall on weekends could save up
to $6,000 a month, according to
P.K. Imbrie, Corps supply officer.
Imbrie said the services of Dun
can and the Commons would be
combined because not enough stu
dents were eating at either place to
justify expenses. The combination
will continue on a trial basis for the
rest of the semester.
Lloyd Smith, assistant director of
Food Services said a large part of
the savings could be attributed to
the combining of labor forces at
Duncan and the Commons.
“We are a bit short-handed right
now, and this would allow us to
combine the labor forces instead of
hiring a lot of new help,” Smith
said.
Corps members will be required
to wear uniforms to meals in the
Commons, Imbrie said.
