Coneheads Outdistance APO
APO kept the ball moving at a
rapid pace during their recent con
flict with the Coneheads in Men’s
Independent class BC play. The
Coneheads played well as a pass
ing team, keeping a corner man
open to receive well-placed court-
long passes. APO had spurts of
great team plays, but overall
played as individuals.
The first half saw a lot of hurry
ing by APO who racked up 6
points by fouls. Coneheads were
ahead with a score of 24. Number
28, Mark Moore scored the first
points of the game and continued
helping #23, Mike Knapek, #22,
Greg Buchanan, and #21, Brad
Wakeman add up the points. The
Coneheads had 13 fouls called
against them during the half. APO
had seven fouls called on them.
The second half was more of a
traveling game as both teams

moved the ball across court for
shots at the basket. The Con
eheads proved more successful at
scoring, although APO added
quite a few points to their total.
The half started on the Con
eheads half of the court but did
not stay there long. Conehead s
#26, David Coake, joined his
other high-scoring teammates to
score several points. APO’s high
scorers for the second half were
#00, John Tommons, #18, Ray
Miles, #19, Kevin Flack, and
#12, Roger Lind. Fouls were
greatly reduced to a total of 11 for
both teams in this last half. The
final plays saw a 35-24 ending
score in favor of the Coneheads.
