University Vice President Kermit McMurray delayed delivery of Fri day’s edition of The Gramblinite until Monday, claiming that would be a better time for distribution be cause many students go home for the weekend. The weekly paper normally is distributed on Fridays. Caesar Andrews, the student editor, said school officials asked that stories about the stabbing of one Grambling student and the kill ing of another be dropped. After the editors declined, administrators asked that the papers be withheld. McMurray said he found the arti cles acceptable and did not intend to restrict the flow of news. “I thought they did a good job,” he said. “I didn t find anything wrong with them.” He said a stu dent committee was appointed to decide when the paper should be distributed in the future, calling it “an internal thing.” Pete Dosher, university jour nalism director and an adviser to the paper, said Me Murray’s statement about the delay was a surprise. “This is the first I have heard of that,” Dosher said. “In the past 20 years I have always told student journalists to ‘Tell it like it is.
