Texas Aggie Rodeo Scholarships.
Awarded $300 each were: Bobby
Cobb and Glenda Chapman, Has
kell; Joe Dutton, Junction; Beverly
Acton, Cuero; Clayton Zwerschke,
Bryan; and Dawn Higgins, Dallas.
Part of the scholarship money comes
from over $2,500 awarded to the as
sociation from the Copenhagen-
Skoal Scholarship Awards Program.
This is the largest group of students
ever to receive rodeo scholarships at
Texas A&M, said Corkey Sandel,
Texas Aggie Rodeo Association spon
sor. Recipients are chosen on the
basis of financial need, club partici
pation, academics and how well they
have performed in rodeo events,
Sandel noted. The next competition
will be held Feb. 22-24 at the
Southwest Texas State University
Rodeo in San Marcos.

major awards, the Agronomic Resi
dent Education Award, to Dr. Mur
ray Milford, professor of soil science
at Texas A&M University. Milford
was honored at the society’s annual
banquet Dec. 6 in Chicago. The
award recognizes educational inno
vations developed and used suc
cessfully in the university classroom.
Milford’s responsibilities include
teaching introductory soil science
and undergraduate seminars, serv
ing as departmental graduate stu
dent adviser and coordinating assis-

dents. He has served on Texas
