HOUSTON — Prosecutors, intent that their best evidence leave a
strong impression on jurors, today will replay videotapes of a fateful
Aug. 20 meeting between Fort Worth millionaire T. Cullen Davis
and FBI informant David McCrory.
By repeating the videotapes and accompanying soundtrack, the
prosecution team hopes to make clear to the jury that Davis knew
exactly what he was doing during his involvement with McCrory.
The 45-year-old industrialist is accused of conspiring, soliciting and
attempting to have his divorce judge slain by pressuring McCrory, a
friend of several years, to hire a professional killer.
The alleged scheme culminated with Davis’ arrest as he left a Fort
Worth restaurant and parking lot last summer.
Authorities said he had given McCrory $25,000 minutes earlier in
exchange for fabricated evidence indicating District Judge Joe H.
Eidson had been killed. The arrest occurred three days after
McCrory went to the FBI with allegations that Davis wanted 15
persons, including his brother and adopted daughter, killed.
FBI agent Joseph Gray of Dallas will continue his testimony and
narration of the videotapes today when the trial begins its fourth
week of testimony. Gray was the agent who made the videotape,
which shows Davis and McCrory in and out of each other s cars and
peering inside the trunk of the millionaire’s Cadillac.

When you’re discussing something as important as
your future, it’s urgent that you get the straight facts
. . . and that you understand them. Air Force ROTC
can be an important part of your future. We would like
to outline some of the facts and invite you to look into
gathering more.
It’s a fact: the Air Force needs highly-qualified, dedi
cated officers . . . men and women. It’s a fact: we need
people in all kinds of educational disciplines. It’s a fact:
we’re prepared to offer financial help to those who can
qualify for an Air Force ROTC scholarship.
Get together with an AFROTC representative and
discuss the program. Well give you all the facts. »
could be one of the most important talks you’ve ever
had with anyone about your educational plans.
