Team Handball
— A Special Symposium
The A&M Team Handball Club is hosting a very special seven day
symposium with speakers
who are known nationally and interna-
tionally. Stan Modrowski
and Dan Foster will
he instructing the
Team Handball Club and
interested persons in
the latest develop-
ments in the sport of team handball.
Team handball is a sport
relatively new to the L
nited States, and to
A&M University. Many of the skills and strategies are similar to
basketball, however, the goals are very large and
require the use of a
goalie. It is a fast moving
and exciting sport for
nen or women and
has been an Olympic sport for some time.
Stan Modrowski and Dan Foster are internationally experienced in
team handball. Stan was a member of the Polish National Team in
1973 and 1975, and the Polish Olympic Team in
1972 and 1976. He
also coaches the Polish Junior Olympic Team and
will be the coach for
the 1980 Polish Olympic
Team. The U.S. Olympic Commitee has
commissioned him as a foreign expert, to conduct
symposiums in the
United States. Assisting Stan, is Dan Foster. Dan was a member of
the U.S. National Handball Team from 1972 until 1977 and was head
coach of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Team in 1976.
The symposium will be held daily from 5:00 p.
n. until dark, start-
ing on Tues., Nov. 7 until Mon., Nov. 13. The Saturday session will
meebrill day.'The location for all of these sessions
may vary. Informa-
tion can he obtained through contacting the Intramural Office in
DeWare Fieldhouse, 845-7826.
“I-Spy” Participant Of The Week
John Moore seemed to enjoy this jump ball as M-l played
1-1 in a game of flickerball last week. John should come by the
I.M. office to pick up his “Be Our Guest” card, redeemable
for free food at McDonald’s.
