It’s the fall of 1978 and the Intramural Office has another year of fun-filled sports programming planned. Returning Ag gies will find many of their old favorites among the agenda. We hope the new Aggies will check out our sports to find some activities to suit them, as well. Last year the intramural program continued to grow and more growth is expected this year. The intramural staff feels this is due to our attempts to provide appealing and satisfying programs for almost every individual. We hope all Aggies will sample and join in our organized sports tournaments as well as our free play recreation opportunities. The intramural staff is dedicated to serving you, the partici pant, to the best of our ability. We believe that winning should not become more important than the joy of participating in a chosen sport. You can help us by entering each activity witlia healthy, fun-oriented attitude to promote good sportsman ship, and make every experience in intramurals a good experi ence. Reservations for courts may be made by calling 845-2624 or visiting the Intramural Check-out Room in DeWare Fieldhouse between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily. Courts may be reserved one day in advance for a one hour period at the following times: Tennis: Monday-Friday 4 p.m.-12 midnight Saturday & Sunday 1 p.m.-10 p.m. Racketball and Handball: Monday-Friday 12 noon-1 p.m. 4 p.m.-2 a.m. Saturday & Sunday 8 a.m.-12 midnight Reservations must be confirmed by 15 minutes after the hour by showing your current university I. D. to the supervisor on duty at the tennis courts or DeWare Fieldhouse. Those interested in of ficiating volleyball, flag football, water polo or soccer should stop by the IM Office, DeWare Fiel dhouse, and speak with James Welford. Starting pay is $2.50 per game. All will receive training through mandatory clinics which proceed each sports season. Report as soon as possible to sign up for intramural officiating where the thrills never end!! Bowling Those Aggies who are interested in higher competition in a particu lar sport may find greater satisfac tion in one of our many sports clubs. These are recognized cam pus organizations operated by TAMU students, competing on the intercollegiate level with other institutions around the state and country. They practice on a regu lar basis on or in university sports facilities and are coordinated through the intramural office. Each fall these clubs recruit in terested students, faculty and stall to participate in and support their particular club.
