Both Booth and Campbell are stationed in the Hous ton field office of the Secret Service. Campbell, who grew up in Hous ton, feels fortunate to have stayed in her hometown. Booth grew up in the small town of Lindale near Tyler and was the only one of the 38 graduating seniors to attend college. He chose Texas A&M because it met two criteria — a student could wear blue jeans and no girls were allowed — then. Booth’s decided preference for blue jeans over the required suit and tie found a welcome haven on the LBJ Ranch during his Johnson duties when work shirts and jeans became the attire for agents. "One of the sides has carpet panels to help cut down noise. "They also allow for more ventila tion than is possible in a fixed-wall apartment, he said. “Since the panels are only six feet high, it leaves about two feet of space* for air circulation. The 90-unit complex plan will go before the Texas A&M University Board of Regents in September. If approved, the units should be up and housing students by the mid term of 1980, he said. T think the idea will be liked by most of the students, Boyce said optimistically. “It gives them total control over the 538 square feet of floor space in the apartment. fhe Barry Manilow concert Vduled for Oct. 7 at Texas A&M ijjversity has been cancelled.
