Adkisson says agriculture scientists^
lowest paid faculty in country

Agriculture scientists should do
number one work for number one
pay, said Dr. Perry Adkisson, vice-
president for agriculture and re
newable resources.
Adkisson spoke to an audience of
more than 1,000 at the biennial con
ference of the Texas Agricultural
Extension Service.
“The work we do is just as impor
tant,” he later said, referring to the
fact that scientists in other colleges
are generally paid more than in the
college of agriculture.
The situation isn’t unique to
A&M. Adkisson pointed out that ag
riculture is one of the lowest paid
faculties in the country. However,
he said that A&M is among the top
ten highest paying universities in
