Policewomen take training

17-21 at Texas A&M University will
help the woman officer in dangerous
situations.
The course will train policewo
men in firearms handling, pursuit
driving and methods of self
protection.
The 40-hour, one-week course
will aid the women officers in areas
not covered in basic training. The
course will feature instruction by
U.S. Customs Patrol, Federal
Bureau of Investigation specialists
and driving experts of the Texas
Transportation Institute.
“Behind the wheel" instruction
will cover accident avoidance, wet
weather driving and cornering
techniques. The women also will be
trained in self-protection and han
dling physical resistance.
