Page 4 400 expected for pest control seminar Pest control specialists from throughout Texas go into training today at Texas A&M University. They began registration Saturday for the 32nd Pest Con trol Workshop, a three-day mid winter operators course con ducted by the Texas Agricultural Extension Service. About 400 participants are expected. “The workshop is about the only source of techinical training for exterminators, said Dr. Phil lip Hamman, extension entomologist with TAEX and program coordinator. Workshop sessions, providing in-depth treatment of current problem areas, will be instructed primarily by industry represfen- tatives. A Texas A&M specialist will speak on storing grain prod ucts. Sessions will go into treatment of such problems as fleas and ticks, and handling vertebrate pests such as possums, raccoons, skunks and deer. Well ‘fracturing training to begin CASINO GIRLS Training designed to help bring previously unproductive oil wells on line will be conducted Feb. 13-17 at Texas A&M University. The short course on well stimula tion -— called fracturing — will in volve 20 industry specialists, accord ing to Dr. Douglas Von Gonten. He heads the Petroleum Engineering Department which sponsors the course. It is a first-time offering and “par ticularly applicable in this day and time of oil shortages, Von Gonten said.
