The Aggies take a 1-2 conference
ecord into the Ozarks tonight to do
wsketball battle with an Arkansas
Razorback team that will be glad to
>et home.
After defeating Houston convinc-
ngly in Fayetteville, the Hogs went
Rice and defeated the Owls by
inly nine points. Texas then handed
he third-ranked Razorbacks their
irst defeat of the season in front of
16,288 fans in the Longhorn’s Super
)rum 75-69.
Now ranked sixth in the nation,
lie Hogs return to Barnhill Arena
vhere they have won 22 straight
(ames.
Arkansas’ starting five includes
foot-11 junior Steve Schall and
foot-7 senior Jim Counce. Coach
Iddie Sutton’s pride and joy, how-
iver, is his 6-foot-4 trio of Ron Bre-
) ler, Marvin Delph and Sidney
doncrief. That trio is the driving
orce that took Arkansas to the
iouthwest Conference title last year
md made them pre-season favorites
repeat their championship this
:eason.
Brewer and Dolph are in their
astyear at Arkansas but Moncrief is
mly a junior. Thirteen games into
he season, Moncrief was the Pork-
irs’ leading scorer and leading re-
lounder. He averaged 20.7 points
nd9.8 rebounds per game. He was
ilso high-point man in seven of
hose 13 games, with a 29-point high
|ame against Hofstra.
Brewer is Arkansas second lead-
scorer this season with an 18.1
verage. Delph, who averages 16.6
nints per game, needs a 20-point
verage through the rest of the
eason to become Arkansas’ all-time
eading scorer.
Ida) Despite their leading roles in the
logs efforts on the basketball
itsa ourt, Sutton is not afraid to give bis
farters a breather now and then.
