The $8.4 million facility will serve
ne 2,000 students and house ap-

lad of the animal science depart-

n addition to the animal ''fence
department, the building will serve
the poultry science department and
provide temporary facilities for 4-H
and other youth activities conducted
by the Texas Agricultural Extension
Service.
Formal dedication ceremonies are
scheduled for April 3.
The 165,000-square-foot edifice
contains two large lecture halls, four
other classrooms, 10 teaching
laboratories, 40 research labs, eight
conference rooms, nearly 100 of
fices, and library space.
It also houses a wool and mohair

The center is named for the late
longtime leader of the famed King
Ranch organization. Kleberg, one of
Texas’ outstanding ranching figures,
was a 1941 recipient of an honorary
doctor of agriculture degree from
Texas A&M, one of the few persons
to receive an honorary doctorate
