Aggie bandmen have been pre- paring for halftime of the Dec. 31 Astro-Bluebonnet Bowl. It will be the third straight bowl appearance with the Aggie football team by the band. The Houston As trodome outing will be the Aggie Band’s 31st football drill in three years, including trips to Memphis and El Paso for the Liberty and Sun Bowls. Fifteen of the 31 were road trips. The band, will arrive in Houston early Dec. 31 for a 10 a. in. practice, reported Lt. Col. Joe T. Haney, di rector. The Aggies and Southern Cal Tro jans kick off their Astro-Bluebonnet clash at 7 p.m. The game will be televised by Mizlou, with 93 per cent national pickup. Haney said the Houston appear ance will include pregame show par ticipation with the USC Trojan Band. The Aggie Band will play the National Anthem. Texas A&M University veterinar ians, however, have ruled out speculation that a toxic renal condi tion and ear canal parasites were contributing factors. Dr. Cayman Helman, clinical as sociate in Texas A&M s Veterinary Pathology Department, said Friday no exact cause of death for the 1,000-pound mammal had been dis covered after an autopsy and micro scopic tissue studies. “This is not uncommon, espe cially in marine animals, he said. “We don t know their history or where they came from.
