completed work on projects includ
ing a garbage compactor, gate
opener, overhead projector adapter
and a pole vault pit.
One of the course requirements is
team presentation of a design solu
tion before the visiting engineers.
The presentation calls for oral,
graphic and written engineering
communications, which the stu
dents will use during the remainder
of their undergraduate studies and
later in their jobs.
The Visiting Engineer Program
provides a broad view of the engi
neer’s approach to problem solving
and design methods, Earle said.
