They have the unenvi- lletask of dividing their time and Itention between their children id school, and this often means loosing priorities. When you’ve got a quiz the next i and a kid with an earache, ire going to stay up with the said Karen Carsrud, a Texas M graduate student and mother 15-year-old boy. She said her grades often suffer such conflicts. "It’s hard to find a balance when dh the child and school need im- ediate attention,” she said, ou’ve got responsibility to both rids.” Because she is a single parent, rsrud’s situation is more difficult immaculate house. “If the dishes sit out for four days straight and we run out, it doesn’t bother me,” Pappas said. “I don’t feel guilty about having a messy house. We just wait and clean it up on the weekends.” As a young mother of three put it, “If I had to worry about keep ing a clean house I’d go crazy. We pick up the big pieces but leave the rest.” Raising young children also re stricts a mother s participation in outside school activities. Before going to a Midnight Yell Practice, Town Hall concert, club meeting, political speech, basketball game or movie, the mother must first find a babysitter. And babysitters cost money, which causes most of the entertainment to center around quiet evenings at home and Home Box Office movies on television. Campus Names ‘57, ‘72 classes reunite Saturday Classes of 1957 and 1972 re turn to Texas A6rM University next weekend for 25th and fifth- year-reunions. Assisted with arangements by the Association of Former Stu dents, the two groups will have social activities, banquets and programs centered around the 1:30 p.m. Texas A&M-Arkansas Saturday football game. Associa tion Class Programs Director Mrs. Olive DeLucia said 700 people are expected for the two reunions. Southwest Texas State Univer sity President Lee H. Smith will address his classmates at the ‘57 Saturday dinner. Others in the group are Texas A&M professors Dr. Tom Adair, Dr. John Hoyle and Dr. Jack Lunsford. Lunsford was corps commander. Bryan dentist Dr. Charles Ernst graduated in ‘57, as did Educa tional Television transmitter en gineer George Shearer Jr. Local banker Dennis Goehring and John Hopkins, class agents, helped Delucia with arrange ments.
