The 5-4 decision eliminated the position of comptroller, which was placed under the executive branch to handle bookkeeping for the Stu dent Government. Since the bill was overturned, the vice president for finance still dis burses Student Government funds. The four-page minority report quotes the Texas A&M University Student Body Constitution as the basis for its decision and approved the bill. “It is the opinion of the minority of the Judicial Board ... that the rul ing of the board should be made in accordance with the ... constitution for the Student Body of Texas A&M University,” the opinion states. “Since the actual spending of Stu dent Government money is execu tion of legislation, it is the duty of the Student Body president to do so.” William Griffin, author of the opinion, suggested to future J-board members that they “think beyond ntinei pj. |1Z P'fMarv n : t: the particular problem at haufa consider the entire con sequel .res their final decision.
