The Aggies, winners over the University of Kansas last week and currently ranked seventh in the na tion, face a team which has steadily improved since Coach Jimmy Sharpe took command of the squad three years ago. Following a dismal 4-7 campaign in his rookie attempt in 1974, Sharpe has rallied the Gobblers to back-to-back winning seasons. That’s the first time a Tech unit has accomplished that feat since 1968. VPI went 8-3 in ’75 and 6-5 last year. Saturday’s contest will be the first for the Virginians in 1977. A team which fields 38 returning lettermen from last season, the Gobblers are sound on both offense and defense.
