Koldus, vice president for student services. “The main problem is that unless these cases are reported, nothing can be done about them,” Koldus said. After being arrested for indecent exposure in the Sterling C. Evans Library last month, a 19-year-old student confessed to numerous pre vious incidents that were never re ported to Texas A&M University Police or the administration. The man admitted to incidents since January and said he had ex posed himself at least 10 times on one day. University Police Chief O.L. Luther said. The victims did not report the in cidents because they thought no ac tion would be taken, Koldus said. “What they do not realize is that these people have a tendency to be come progressively worse instead of getting better, and need to be ap prehended,” Koldus said. In this case, the library incidents were becoming more frequent, Luther said. Both the state and the University take action against these persons after they are apprehended, Luther said. If there is sufficient evidence, the case is taken to court, he said. The administration takes discipli nary action regardless, Luther ad ded. A similar case took place two years ago. The offender was dismissed from the University staff but his case was never tried Luther said. “The fear of going to court and embarrassment are two reasons we think these incidents are not re ported,” Luther said. “In order for the case to go to court we need substantiated evi dence, if not a confession — a com plaining witness,” he said. “If the victims do not want to be- WED., THURS., FRI., SAT. A female student was reportedly approached by a Texas A&M staff member on the drill field. After the man had propositioned her and had been refused, she said the man grabbed her leg, Koldus said. Luther said that after the incident was reported and the man ap- her prehended, he confessed to twoi no cou lier offenses that had gone u, and ha; ported. c l a ss ca “He appeared to be gettingn in' itati aggressive each time,” adcthird ol Luther.
