I know that we just started baseball and track, but football is starting, or at least for the Aggies and all of the other Southwest Con ference (SWC) football teams. This season is not one full of fes tive football weekends, with mid night yell practices and the big game on Saturday, but one of pain, hard work, sore muscles and lots and lots of sweat. This is the season for spring training, and it gets in to full swing next Tuesday, with the Ags getting their first feel of full pads since beating the University of Florida. The weeks leading up to spring training have not been any more fun for the football team than spring training will be. These weeks have been for conditioning. This condi tioning has come in the form of run ning, lifting weights, running and more running. When Coach Emory Bellard was asked about spring training he said the two main purposes behind spring training are to teach, and to get a good idea of where people will play. themselves and earn a start,,,! tjonon the team.
