The organization returns to San Antonio for the “Battle of Flowers” parade April 22, said Jeff Shannon, troop executive officer of Wayside. Also serving in unit leadership posts are First Sergeant Rich Lane of Richmond and Platoon Leaders Tad Rielly of Dawsonville, Md., and Leo Casas of San Diego. In its fourth year, the show piece organization that rode in several Corps march-ins to football games last fall is named in honor of Col. Thomas R. Parsons. The comman dant helped get the troop organized and equipped. Members supply their own horses, which are stabled on three acres at the Re search and Extension Center at Bryan.
