Instructor Evaluations
The purpose of Instructor Evaluations is to assist you in gaining the
most from the educational resources available at Texas A&M Univer
sity by acquainting you with other students’ opinions of the teachers
they have had. This program was designed strictly for student usage
and convenience, and not for the university administration. Informa
tion was obtained from the questionnaire reprinted on this page. The
evaluation was conducted on a voluntary basis, however some instruc
tors were unable to participate because of the inherent nature of the
courses they taught, because of limited course schedules, or because of
various other reasons.
The information contained in this issue is based on evaluations
performed during the fall semester 1975. The information is divided
into the different departments, with courses listed in sequence.

A mean and standard deviation have been completed for each ques
tion. A mean of 2.5 would indicate that the instructor had been rated
halfway between slightly agree and neutral. A large standard deviation
would indicate a wide variance of opinions among the students.
A further breakdown is provided in the distinction between evalua
tions performed by students enrolled in that major field and students
from other majors.
