John Nelson, vice-president of administration on the council, said that any student may apply who has a 2.4 GPR even if he has no previous committee experience. “The 2.4 GPR requirement has been waived on occasion,” Nelson added. The announcement came after a closed session of the MSC Nominat ing Committee last night. Oeffinger is presently chairman of Political Forum. The Opera and Performing Arts Society (OPAS) received full com mittee status upon approval of the Council. OPAS has been part of Town Hall since its creation three years ago. Programming and finan cial details for the committee will he handled as they have been in the past. The Council also approved budget increases for two MSC committees, Basement and Cepheid Variable. Cepheid Variable received a $900 increase in its budget for the re mainder of the academic ya initial budget of $5,800 has creased to $12,150.
