Editor: I wish to call attention to the “Ath letic Oatmeal” column by Tony Gal- lucci. The article was located on page five of Friday’s Battalion. Tony Gallucci is one to talk about the news media going rampant. Gallucci talks of people ranting and raving, when it is he that is carry ing on. Wake up, Gallucci, no one needs to expose the conservatism at Texas A&M. It is a well known fact. Maybe a turn to pot has been made. So what!? People need a release. Who cares how they get it? Some people drink, some smoke, others become police men and a few write bad sports col- have oral sex, if they reach an orgasm while eating. I agree that some persons have sensationalized the recent marijuana incident beyond its importance, but the way Gallucci worded his column, he seems to be the “pot” that called the kettle “black. ” What special ingredient is in “Ath letic Oatmeal?” Appreciation DON’T SHOP ANY UDDER PLACE! But this “news” release, haphazardly states two different fi gures for what Galluccie believes to be the number of pot smokers at A&M. These figures hurt my head. They hurt, not because the figures were too high or too low, of because I agree or disagree, and not even be cause they are not fact and provable, but rather, it hurts to know that Gal lucci could not even make up his mind as to which figure he wanted to use. Isn t indecisiveness a side-effect of smoking pot? His statement compares to that which says, 100 per cent of all Aggies Editor: I wish to express my appreciation for the friendliness shown me by students and faculty alike, during my first two weeks at Texas A&M. I transferred this spring from a small Baptist college in Waco, Texas. Dur ing the trip to College Station, I wor ried about large classes, getting lost on campus and meeting people. loyalty that prevails here and I an ticipated being a part of the special bond between Aggies.
