Outfit constructs
digital Ag clock
The outfit that brought you the
Aggie aluminum domino has now
come out with a hand-made, stu
dent designed and constructed
Texas A&M digital clock.
Students in the Engineering
Technology Department are pro
ducing a $55 clock with a solid Wal
nut case. Light Emitting Diodes
(LEDs) for numbers, and an en
graved TAM on the face. The num
bers are maroon, of course.
The clock also runs on a 24-hour
cycle. If the alarm is set for 8 a.m. it
goes off only at 8 a.m. and not 8 p.m.
Instructor Dr. Jon Botsford said
the project is a non-profit project of
the Engineering Technology Soci
ety to raise money to support their
activities. It will pay for banquets,
trips, and conferences for the soci
ety.
“It’s a chance for the students to
get involved in their areas of study
and to experience the areas they will
be working in as professionals out of
the classroom,” he explained.

Friday before the Texas Aggies
football matchup with Baylor will be
Country-Western music day.
Johnny Rodriguez headlines a
Town Hall Special Attraction show.
Country-Western band “Asleep At
The Wheel,” that also spreads the
gospel of swing, stars too.
The show in G. Rollie White Col
iseum starts at 8 p.m.
Rodriguez has three singles on
the charts, led by his new “Love Put
A Song in My Heart.” Also riding
high are “Just Get Up and Close the
Door” and “Am I That Easy to
Forget.”
A native of Sabinal in South
Texas, Johnny Rodriguez rose to the
top in less than two years.
The Country Music Association
honoree says most of his friends are
in Hondo and Uvalde, but the bulk
of 1975 has been spent at Nashville
recording and songwriting, and in
Hollywood looking at movie-TV
prospects.
Operating trom Austin since early
last year, “Asleep At The Wheel”
has a following that grew from early
work in California. The group’s hits
have been “You and Me Instead,”
“I’m Gonne Be A Wheel Someday, ”
“Choo-Choo-Cha-Boogie,’’ and
“Don’t Ask Me Why I’m Going to
Texas,” among others.
“Asleep” consists of Ray Benson
on lead guitar; Chris O’Connell,
rhythm guitar; Leroy Preston,
drums; Lucky Oceans, steel guitar;
Tony Gamier, bass; Floyd Domino,
piano, and Richard Casanova, fid
dle. Guests have also worked with
them, along with a brass section.
Show tickets, at the Rudder
Center box office, are required for
all patrons. Season passes are not
admissable to Town Hall Specials.
