Soccer team outdoes scrappy Lamar, 4-3 Merdhad Farrokhnia scored two goals to lead the Texas A&M Soccer team to a narrow, shorthanded 4-3 win over scrappy Lamar. Lamar scored first but was promptly tied by Farrokhnia. Steve May er put the Ags in the lead 2-1 after picking up a ball the Cardinal goalie could not handle. Farrokhnia then started the sec ond half by outclassing the Lamar defense to put the score 3-1 in favor of the Ags. Right Wing and club president Jim Davis was thrown out of the game after a controversial call which left the Lamar goalie injured. Be fore recuperating from the loss and playing a man short, the Ags found themselves tied at 3-all. Paul Oliver took the situation into his own hands, pulling from defense to the front to save the game for the Ags with five minutes left. The win leaves the Aggies with a 4-1 record this season, the best in several years. This weekend they will travel to Houston where they take on League champs UH and Rice. The Ags only loss so far this season was to UH. w Pumpkin Time is Party Time Shop our party department for Hallmark paper partyware and accessories.
