p age 10 THE BATTALION WEDNESDAY, JUNE 18, 1975 All-American honors _ kOO Simonini to crown queen at Stonewall peach test Ed Simonini, outstanding young man and football hero from Texas A&M University, will be Parade Marshal and also crown the new Stonewall Peach Queen at the Stonewall Peach Jamboree and Rodeo, June 20-21. is special. Simonini is from Las Vegas, Nevada, a senior student of oceanography at Texas A&M and besides being tops scholastically, he has accumulated an impressive re cord of football honors. He was All American linebacker at A&M for two years. He made All Southwest Conference for 3 years. During his sophomore year he was elected cap tain of his football team and was out standing defensive player in the Southwest Conference. He is one of I the finest young men at Texas A&M University and is noted for his lead ership ability nation wide as well as state wide. Sheriffs Posse Drill Team will dis play their horsemanship in intricate drills. The rodeo starts at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 21 — The parade will start at 3 p.m. beginning just west of Ranch Road 1623, proceed ing west on Highway 290 to the junction with Ranch Road 1 and then return east on Highway 290 to Ranch Road 1623 to disband. There will be food and entertainment throughout the afternoon including the Peach Show and auction with Dudley Althaus, auctioneer. The second Rodeo will start at 8 p.m. with the Comal County Sheriffs Posse Drill Team again performing. The Stonewall Peach Queen Coro nation will take place during the rodeo with Cactus Pryor, well known TV personality, as Emcee and Ed Simonini crowning the new queen. A pavilion dance with music by the Wagon Aces is set for 9 p.m. Saturday. NOTICE!!!!!! The victory in the regularly scheduled game snapped Chicago’s four-game losing streak and ended a four-game winning string by the Reds. Bill Bonham, 6-5, who needed ninth-inning relief help from Darold Knowles, scattered eight hits and struck out 12 Reds. Bonham gave up Joe Morgan’s eighth homer of the year in the eighth inning.
