Students interested in the German program meet at 7 p.m. Wednes day, Nov. 13, in room 106 of the Academic Building. Meetings for the French and Mexican study sessions will be Monday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., respectively, in room 108. The Mexican and Czech programs will be approximately six weeks in duration while German and French would be eight to 10 weeks. The Spanish project in Mexico will be for 300-level classes only. No information on costs is yet available, says Dr. Anne Elmquist, but further details will be distributed as they are worked out. Book collectors compete Texas A&M student book collectors put their volumes on the line Friday in the annual University Library contest, at 2 p.m. in the library conference room. Nineteen collections will vie for six $100 prizes. Collection topics include the oceans, John F. Kennedy, East Africana, revolution in theory and practice, scouting, science fiction, Texana and the institutions of government. Lon Tinkle, Dallas Morning News book editor and critic, heads a three-judge panel. He will speak on “Confessions of a Book Critic. Dr. Irene Hoadley, library director, noted that the contest lecture and awards ceremony is open to all interested persons. Lectures held at lunch Two “brown bag” activities are planned Tuesday and Wednesday for students and faculty. Tuesday, a noon to 1:30 p.m. seminar features Dr. Glenn Johnson, education and curriculum instruction professor, leading a panel on higher education. The seminar will be held in room 717 of Harrington Education Center and is sponsored by the EDCI Graduate Student Association. On Wednesday, the Department of Educational Administration will feature two films from noon to 1 p.m. with a 30-minute discussion period offered afterwards. The films, to be shown in room 623 of Harrington, are “The Futurists’ and “The Class of 01: The College of Tomorrow, ” both dealing with ex pected trends and needs in future education. Fire Marshall Harry Davis sus pects arson and is seeking two sus pects. Arson was first suspected when three of the mobile homes were burning separate from the other fires on the opposite side of the park, Davis said. Evidence found on the scene was shipped to the state fire marshall in Austin for investigation. “They will determine whether or not arson was involved in the fire,” Davis said.
