House to sub-let for summer. Large, Mr. Businessman: Store your overflow

As final exams and the end of the
semester near, the Student Gov
ernment has outlined the grade ap
peals procedure for students.
Jeff Dunn, vice president for
Academic Affairs, said, “The proce
dure is done through the University
Academic Appeals Panel. Students
should understand this panel is a
formal procedure through which
they are asking a panel of faculty and
students to overrule decisions made
by the student’s dean or an
instructor’s department head.
“The main function of this panel is
to hear appeals only on final course
grades or appeals involving suspen
sion for academic reasons,” said
Dunn.
Dunn outlined the following pro
cedure:
First, the student should attempt
to resolve all differences with his in
structor and/or dean. Should this fail
the student must arrange for a pre
liminary interview with the chair
man of the University Academic Ap
peals Panel, Dr. Harry Kroiter.
Second, the student must submit
in writing all pertinent information
to his appeal at least five days before
appeals meetings begin. He will be
expected to support and prove his
assertions that his academic evalua
tion was done in a capricious, arbit
rary or prejudiced manner.
The panel will not make any deci
sion on a specific appeal until all per
tinent information is received from
the student, his dean and from the
registrar’s office.
Upon conclusion of the appeals
meeting, the panel will immediately
tell the student of its decision, and
then send a formal letter to the
student’s dean. Where relevant, the
instructor and department head, will
also be contacted.
“A more detailed, summary de
scription of these procedures has
been distributed to all academic
deans for information purposes and
for distribution to interested stu
dents,’’ said Dunn.

Nelson’s picnic
adds Rick Nelson
Rick Nelson is one of four addi
tions to Willie Nelson’s second an
nual 4th of July Picnic at the Texas
World Speedway July 4, 5 and 6.
Other additions are Mickey New
bury, Doug Kershaw, and Lefty
F rizzell.
Mickey Newbury is a
songwriter/performer who is popu
lar among both country and folk fans.
A native Texan, Newbury has been
working out of Nashville for a
number of years but, until recently,
was best known among other musi
cians as writer. His songs—“San
Francisco Mabel Joy,” for
example—have been recorded by
singers with such diverse public im
ages as Waylon Jennings and Joan
Baez.
Doug Kershaw, also attracts both
country and folk fans. His Cajun
music is authentic because
Kershaw’s roots are in the Louisiana
Cajun country. He has played on a
number of network TV shows and his
records have been popular for some
time.
Rick Nelson and Lefty Frizzell
represent two eras of country music.
In the ’50s, records by Lefty Frizzell
and the late Hank Williams almost
filled up many of the country juke
boxes. Rick Nelson, introduced to
the public in the 50’s as a child on his
parent’s TV series, “Ozzie and Har
riet, is a comparative newcomer to
country music.
Other entertainers on the Willie
Nelson show include: Hank Wilson,
Sammi Smith, Michael Murphy,
Tracey Nelson, Jerry Jeff Walker,
Kinky Friedman, Asleep at the
Wheel, Dottie West, Geezenslaw
Brothers, Red Steagall, Jimmy Buf
fett, Towns Van Zandt, Ray Wylie
Hubbard, Kenneth Threadgill,
Johnny Duncan, Waylon Jennings,
B. W. Stevenson, Rusty Weir, Red
Lane, Billy Joe Shaver, Johnny Dar
rell, Darrel McCall, Delbert &
Glenn, Angie Meyer, Doug Sahm,
Jimmie Day, Lee Clayton, Floyd
Tillman, Dee Moeller, Greezy
Wheels, George Chambers, Bobby
Bare, Buzz Rabin, Johnny Bush,
Terry Stafford, Tompall Glaser,
David Allen Coe and Bill Monroe.
Advance tickets are$8 per day
andSSO for all three days and will cost
10 per day at the gate.
They may be ordered by sending
money orders or cashier’s checks to
Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic,
Box 9500, College Station.
