Two reappointments and one
new appointment to the College
Station Planning and Zoning
Commission were made by the
City Council Monday.
John Longley and George Boy-
ett were approved for another
term, but Barney Stevenson was
chosen to replace Chris Mathew-
son. Sources told The Battalion
Mathewson wanted to serve again
but the council rejected him in
closed session after an involved
discussion.
Also in closed session, the coun
cil considered the acquisition of
right-of-way of lands for future
use by the city.
In an hour-long public discus
sion the council debated various
methods of presenting the coun
cil’s agenda. Five different mo
tions to change the time and day
of regularly scheduled council
meetings were made and defeated.
The council finally will continue
meeting on the fourth Monday of
each month at 7 p.m.
