Winning 10 of the 15 events the Longhorns easily outdistanced second place Baylor, outscoring the Bears, 96-43. A&M finished a surprising third, failing to win a single event but finishing second in several. Perhaps the most impressive of all was freshman pole vaulter Brad Blair.
