Do you need a good paying part-time or full time job with hours that can be coordinated with your school schedule ? The PIZZA HUT is opening a new “Hut” in College Station and needs employees who are mature, competent, and courteous. Positions exist for attractive women and well-groomed men. This is an excellent oppor tunity for those who work their way through college and for those who have a desire for extra spending money. To arrange for an interview, contact: Bob Gharis at 846-2003 PIZZA IfliT “We are attempting to remind supervisors of the importance of treating their employees as people rather than personnel,” he added. “After all, supervisors get their jobs done through people.” Wiley is placing emphisis on supervisory leadership, motiva tion and worker morale. Inter personal communication and the laws, policies and procedures that influence supervisor-employee re lationships also are being dis cussed. A conference environment of 10 to 12 participants is being used to provide maximum use of “mini-cases,” group discussion and question and answer periods related to a realistic work situ ation, Wiley explained. The su pervisors are encouraged to de velop pertinent facts and prac tical solutions through group discussion of situations presented. Response from participants has been favorable. “I guess each of us had seen situations exactly like those pre sented,” commented Dorothy Barnes, office manager in TAMU’s Food Services Depart ment, “but our decisions after discussion, were often different from those we might have made on the spot—it made us think.” Some gained unexpected bene fits. “I certainly don’t feel alone any more,” Assistant Laundry Man ager Clint Williams said. “I sud denly realized that everyone else has problems too.” Feedback of this sort, has en couraged Wiley to continue the course. Thirty-five supervisors from food services, student apart ments, the golf course, laundry, airport and physical plant have enrolled. Eleven have completed the course. They are: Lloyd Smith, Harold Thearl, Henry Wellnitz, Ed Hein, Anita Davidson, Hugo Stein, Joe Marek, Dorothy Barnes, Lucille Gilpin, Clint Wil liams and Betty Young. Waters Named To Arts Post Dr. A. The followers of Jesus were said to be “of the way.” The primary significance of the word translated “way” is “a road.” The figure of speech is that life is a journey, people are travellers, and Christ points us to the road to follow if we wish,to arrive at the desired destination—eternal- life. The “way” we live deter mines the “road” we are on. This way had been foretold by Isaiah and described by Jesus (Isa. 35:8-10; Matt. 7:13, 14). There are many profitable lessons we may learn from con sidering “the Way,” but space permits us to examine only one!— it is exclusive. It is not “a way,” nor one of “the ways.” It is “the way” to eternal life. Jesus describes it as narrow and not crowded. “Strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” This may be offensive to people who want many ways, or one broad enough for everyone to do as he may please and still find life. It may appear narrow and bigoted to many thinkers today, but Jesus said it, nevertheless. There is one narrow way to eternal life, and few there are who find it. The Lord tells us who those are: “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven” (Matt. 7:21). We read of other ways which we may follow in life—the broad way, false ways which seem right, and our ways (Matt. 7:13-14; Psa. 119:104; Prov. 14:12; Jer. 10:23; Prov. 12:15; 21:2). But, it behooves us, pilgrims who make this journey but once, to leave our footprints on “the way”—the way that is right, true, righteous, and holy (II Pet. 2:2, 15, 21; Isa. 35:8). We invite you to our Bible classes and other services, at 9:30 a. m., 10:30 a. m., and 6:00 p. m. on Sundays, and at 7:30 p. m. on Wednesdays.
