Dinner Slated
For Voice Of
Ag Basketball
Mike Mistovich Appreciation
Day, honoring the former owner
and manager of radio station
KORA, has been set for Jan. 19.
Mistovich will be the guest of
honor at a dinner scheduled for
7:30 p.m. at Sbisa Hall on the
A&M campus. Tickets are $5.00
and can be purchased at any
Brazos County financial institu
tion, Wards in Manor East Shop
ping Center, the Memorial Stu
dent Center, Conway’s Clothiers
and Joe Faulk Auto Parts.
Texas A&M basketball coach
Shelby Metcalf will be the mas
ter of ceremonies.
Mistovich, who is making a
speedy recovery from heart sur
gery, has made large contributions
in all areas of community life
since returning to Bryan in Jan
uary, 1962. He has been a big
backer of athletics at the high
school and university level and
a tireless worker in civic clubs
and religious organizations.
Several special guests have
been invited to join the Bryan-
College Station community in ex
pressing their appreciation to
Mistovich for his efforts in be
half of the community.

Keep Lead In
Basketball Poll

North Carolina State switched
places with Marquette Tuesday
while UCDA and Maryland contin
ued to play “me and my shadow”
in The Associated Press’ major-
college basketball poll.
North Carolina State, 9-0,
moved into third place with 689
points while Marquette, 10-0,
dropped to fourth with 656 in
balloting by sports writers and
sportscasters.
UCLA, 10-0, remained a unani
mous first-place choice while
Maryland, 9-0, stayed a solid
second choice, UCLA got all 47
first-place votes and 940 points
while Maryland got 767 points.
Missouri moved from sixth to
fifth, exchanging places with
Long Beach State, while North
Carolina was seventh followed by
Minnesota, Vanderbilt and Hous
ton.
The Second Ten was com
prised of Providence, San Fran
cisco, Southwestern Louisiana,
Alabama, Jacksonville, Indiana,
Kansas State, Florida State, St.
John’s of New York and Louis
ville.
Kansas State and St. John’s
were tied for 18th.
The Top Twenty, with first-
place votes in parentheses, sea
son records and total points.
