becomes Texas Guard major
Joe T. Haney, associate direc
tor of the Texas Aggie Band, was
sworn in Tuesday as an officer
in the Texas State Guard.

Austin, were present for the cere
mony at AAM.
Lt. Col. E. V. Adame, Aggie
Band director, administered the

Msj. Haney was appointed
associate director in June and
works with CoL Adams on the
myriad details that go into the
famous TAMU musical organisa
tion's performances.
They will first appear together ,
with the Aggie Band in public

by Col. Ira E. Scott. As liaison
officer with the 203rd, Msj.

fill TAMU staff duties with the
Aggie Band.

associate director. He joined Col.

under the late Col. Richard J.
Dunn, Aggie bandmaster from
1024 to 1944. Adams, dean of
Southwest Conference band di
rectors, is in bis 27th year at the
helm of the Aggie Band.
Col. Adams is an Army Reserve
officer, regularly seen in uniform
with the TAlfU bend.
