sixth-ranked teams.
The only other undefeated team
in the top 20 is No. 13 Toledo,
which like Nebraska, Michigan
and Alabama is 10-0. Oklahoma,
Auburn and Penn State are 9-0.
Rounding out the top 10 are
Notre Dame, No. 7, followed by
Georgia, Arizona State and Col
orado. Idle Tennessee held onto
the 11th spot followed by Texas,
Toledo, Louisiana State, South
ern California, Houston, Arkan
sas, Stanford, Michigan State
and Mississippi.
Auburn and Alabama, along
with Nebraska and Oklahoma,
are idle this Saturday awaiting
Thanksgiving weekend show

The teams have been working
out on the lighted softball field
from 7-4) every night for a week
and a half. There are 40-45 ca
dets on each squad. Coaches for
the game are Tom Burnett and
Ozzie Burke for the Army and
Stan Friedli and Merrill Ham for
the Air Force.
In the interest of safety, an
insurance policy on all players
has been purchased. Certain
plays, such as defensive blitzes
will not be used. Faculty and
staff members who are profes
sional referees have volunteered
to officiate the game.
Tom Potthoff and Larry Gal-
lego are in charge of running
and planning the game. Publicity
chairmen are Jan Bertholf and
John Hobson.
“Everyone has been helpful in
getting us started on plans for
the Elephant Bowl,” Hobson said
in announcing the game. “We ap
preciate all the cooperation we’ve
received thus far.”
Admission for the game will be

Volleyball tourney

A faculty-staff volleyball
tournament has begun but one
more team is needed, the intra
mural office announced Monday.
There are seven teams entered
and an eighth team is needed to
round out the tournament. Any
organization or office wanting to
field a volleyball team is urged
to contact the intramural office
as soon as possible. Call 845-

Playoffs are in full swing this
week with two champions being
determined. The Class A football
championship game will take
place Wednesday at 5:00 on Field
ETV 2. Squadron 10 lost to L-l
and A-l beat Squadron 10 in
semi-final action. The winners
of these games play for the
championship. The class B bas
ketball championship was played
Monday night with M-l winning
over Squadron 12.

against Georgia Tech.
