During discussion last week and last night, senators pointed out the amendment would allow as few as 26 senators to approve an amendment (about one-fourth of the membership). Recording Secretary Bill Harts- field, in defending the amend ment, said attendance by senators is so poor that usually barely over the required three-fourth is t present in the first place. Thus, he said, a small number, six or seven, could prevent an amend ment from being passed. Parliamentarian Michael Ess- myer presented a recommendation by the Senate’s sweetheart com mittee, that “The Aggie Sweet heart will be selected from A&M coeds only.” After the recommendation was presented some committee mem bers, including Senate Treasurer Eddie Duryea, said that the idea had seemed good at the time but did not now. Duryea said he thought it would be best if the recommendation were referred back to the committee for further consideration. 61 BATTALION CLASSIFIED 9 WANT AD RATES One day 5 •»» -Evening Service COLLEGE HEIGHTS ASSEMBLY OF GOD CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE School 9:45 A.M. 11:00 A.M. -Sunday School -Morning Worshir 9 :45 A.M.—Sunday School 10:45 A.M.—Morning Worship 6 :30 P.M.—Young People’s Service 7 :00 P.M.—Preaching Service 1 :uu A.M.—Morning Worship 6 :30 P.M.—Young People’s Service 7 :30 P.M.—Evening Worship A&M METHODIST 9:45 A.M.—Sunday School 9:45 A.M.—Sunday School 10 :55 A.M.—Morning Worship FIRST BAPTIST 5 :30 P.M.—Campus & Career Class 5 :30 & 6 :00 P.M.—MYF Meetings 9:30 AM—Sunday School 10:45 AM Morning Worship 6:10 PM—Training Union non 7 :20 PM—Evening Worship -Evening 6:46 PM—Choir Practice & meetings (Wednesday) 4—Midweek Services 7:46 PM- & Teachers (Wed.)
