Kansas won the Big Eight Con ference track title last year; Ten nessee, the Southeastern title; Memphis State, the Missouri Val ley crown; and the Aggies, the Southwest Conference champion ship. Minus the Mills brothers, who stayed at A&M to catch up on some academic work with finals closing in fast, were hampered in the mile relay, 440 and the sprints. The Aggies managed only one first place as SWC sprint cham pion Rockie Woods claimed first in the 50-yard high hurdles in 6.2 seconds, which was one of five indoor school track records set at the meet. Donnie Rogers was fourth with 6.4 High jumper Marvin Taylor cleared the bar at 6-10 but finish ed second to Kansas’ Barry Schur mmmm am on fewer misses. Ben Greathouse was fourth at 6-8. Willie Blackmon also set a school indoor mark in the 880- yard run when he ran the half mile in 1:55.9. Don Kellar zipped to a school record of 1:13.2 in the 600 yard run and Frank Ybarbo also set a school standard with a 9:10.8 time in the two-mile run. Tennessee took first in the mile relay, 880-yard run and 600-yard run and Memphis State won the Squadron 2 wins bowling title Fall intramural sports is near ing its end—Thursday is the final day of sports this semester. While winning four championships, Squadron 2 has taken the lead in the race for intramural team champion. Squadron 2 won its latest cham pionship last week. They beat F-l for the Class B bowling title. They have won Class B bowling and basketball championships and Class A football and handball championships. The final game will be played today in Class A horseshoes. Play ing in the semifinals Tuesday were K-l, C-l, Squadron 10 and the White Band. Golf also will be finished before Christmas with eight teams remaining at this time. A-l, E-l, F-2, Squadron 9, Squadron 10 and Davis-Gary I & II all have reached quarterfinal action. 440 and the 50-yard dash.
