Kickoff time is 7:30 p.m. The Shrine Club is sponsoring the game with all proceeds going to help crippled children. Fans will get an opportunity to see what many Texas observers are calling their best freshman team ever. The Yearlings have rolled over four opponents this season. The injury-riddled Fish have yet to win a game, but gave their best performance in a 43-21 loss to the Texas Tech Picadors in their last game. No fewer than seven Fish start ers are expected to miss the game and three others are slowed by injuries. The top Fish performer this season has been tailback Pat Her ring, a 6-1, 180-pounder from Beaumont South Park. Herring has rushed for 250 yards and a 4.5 average. He has scored four of A&M’s six touchdowns. The quarterback situation is still up in the air with the starter coming from Tim Trimmier, Mike Rigsby or Mark Green. All have seen action at the position this year. Games Guest Picker Fran Haugen Clifford Broyles Middle- brooke Hayden Whitsett John Curylo Steve Bryant Tech-Arkansas Ark. Ark. Ark. Ark. Ark. Ark. When Coach Gene Stallings shelved the Veer-T and put in an offense with two wide receivers, Gardner became the wingback or slot back and he caught nine passes for 117 yards and one touchdown in the first two games as a starter. Gardner may be the team’s fastest player. Back in his school boy days at Dallas Bryan Adams, he ran a 9.6 in the 100-yard dash and he was the city, district and regional champ in the 220-yard dash. In football he played of fensive halfback and in the de fensive secondary. During his freshman year at Texas A&M, he was a member of the unbeaten Fish team and he scored a touchdown in the victory over the Texas Yearlings. Scoring that TD and playing on the un defeated Fish team still are his top athletic thrills since coming to Aggieland. The black-haired, brown-eyed youngster is a business manage ment major but has no definite post-graduate plans at this time. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas H. Gardner of 3315 Crest- ridge in Dallas. His father is a salesman for Tex-Pac of Dallas. came against Baylor but he madt some big receptions against Af kansas, too, catching four for M yards, one for 16 and a big first down. An Aggie upset of the number one rated UT-Austin Longhorn Thanksgiving Day in Austin would undoubtedly erase Gant ner’s victory over the Yearling as his number one thrill. Johnny Gardner Johnny is only 5-9 and 170, but he can move quickly and he has developed into a splendid pass receiver. His touchdown reception COURT’S SADDLERY.. FOR WESTERN WEAE OR FOR YOUR MARE.
